In the Memphis metro, the median household income for Hispanics is $40,284. Median household income for whites is $66,225. Memphis had improved from #61 in the 2016 National Urban League rankings to #53 in 2017.
In the ranking in unemployment equality between African Americans and non-Hispanic whites, the Memphis metro ranked #58. The African American unemployment rate was 12% and the rate for whites was 4.4%.
In the ranking in unemployment equality between Hispanics and non-Hispanic whites, Memphis ranked #66. The Hispanic unemployment rate was 9.5% and the non-Hispanic whites rate was 4.4%
