There a new education website based in Memphis that launched Tuesday: Tennessee Chalkbeat.
We got this email from education reporter Jackie Zubryzcki:
“Happy New Year! Chalkbeat Tennessee is proud to announce the launch of its new website, which aims to help education professionals, policymakers, parents and community members learn about issues affecting schools, share concerns and observations, and discuss policy and practice. Chalkbeat Tennessee is part of Chalkbeat, a national network of education news websites with outposts in New York, Colorado, Indiana and Tennessee.
“We want to show what happens when big ideas hit the ground in Tennessee, and why it matters everywhere else.
“Learn more about who we are and tell us what stories need to be told (and what stories you want to read) at tn.chalkbeat.org. The site will also feature community voices: We want to hear about what’s important and what’s really happening in your community, school, and classroom. Check out the website to get in touch with our community editor.
“For regular updates and to join the conversation, follow us on Twitter @chalkbeattn or like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chalkbeattn
“And, if you’re so inclined, spread the word about our launch to teachers, parents, students, policymakers, and anyone else who cares about what’s happening in schools in Tennessee.”
